I Am The Resurrection
It's been a lot of years since I did any artwork of Jesus. One of the nearby galleries is calling for artwork depicting Jesus to celebrate Easter, so I am hoping this piece will be considered. In preparation, I watched about five movies and documentaries about Jesus and this particular scene stuck in my mind. I kept going back to it wondering why it was so compelling. I realized that, of all the movies about Jesus' life, this scene seemed most real, The dark room lit by lamplights and perhaps a fireplace. The light that seemed to shine from within Jesus. That did it for me. The scene was after the resurrection and Jesus was going to his disciples to show them he had risen. Many, like the disciple depicted here, fell to their knees. Impossible to imagine, but it is what Easter is all about.
