Gran Teatro de La Habana

This streetscape is a collaboration between my old friend, Mac McDonnell and me. Mac took the source photo for this painting while he was touring the world as a road manager and sound reinforcement engineer for various musical artists. The theater is an overwhelmingly com[plex architecture and the line of cabs, delivery trucks, pedestrians and other traffic are in stark contrast to the regal and historic building. The El Capitolio (the Cuban capital building) is in the background and makes this scene a unique combination of old Havana of the early 1900s, the Havana of the fifties and the more modern Havana and its people. I love the architecture and the vintage cars most.
